Role Selection and Decision Attitudes in Crisis Situations

Dear Participant,

This survey is designed to explore people's decision-making tendencies in collective crisis rescue scenarios. There are no right or wrong answers, so please select options based on your genuine thoughts. All data will be strictly confidential and used solely for research purposes. Thank you for your participation!
1. When facing group disagreements, I tend to persuade others with objective data or logical reasoning rather than emotional appeals.
2. Before selecting a sacrifice target, I repeatedly weigh the risk costs and family role values of each member (e.g., whether the young couple can take on subsequent care responsibilities)
3. I am willing to sacrifice my own role in exchange for the life or rescue opportunity of a more important role.
4. When the group tends to abandon the role I’m playing:“I often let feelings of grievance or reluctance cloud my judgment when making decisions.”
5. For me, rescue opportunities should be prioritized for roles that are more important to the group.
6. Even if my role had the chance to be rescued, I do not allow my own interests to hinder recommending the role more important to the collective for priority rescue.
7. I prioritize the practical question of "whether the rescued role can provide key support for the collective's subsequent escape."
8. If the group tends to abandon the role I'm playing, I almost never let feelings of grievance or reluctance affect my judgment of the decision.
9. When deciding who to sacrifice and who to keep, I seldom consider the rescue difficulty or survival hazards of the elderly couple, children, or other family members — I make choices based on favoritism toward a particular member or immediate emotions.
10. Even if my role had the chance to be rescued, I object to favoring myself and would actively recommend the role more important to the collective for priority rescue.
11. When the group is inclined to give up the role I portray:"I rarely manage to keep my judgment about decisions unaffected by feelings of resentment or unwillingness"
12. I almost always let strong grievance or reluctance seriously skew my judgment of the decision as long as the group intends to abandon my role.
