By enhancing information analysis, problem-solving, and creative innovation, digital competency plays a vital role in improving educational practices, fostering critical thinking, and supporting students' professional development in the digital era.

This section aims to assess the level of critical thinking skills. In this study, critical thinking refers to an individual’s ability to analyze problems logically, evaluate information objectively, and apply structured reasoning to decision-making. For students in Chinese painting and calligraphy vocational education, critical thinking skills play a vital role in artistic analysis, creative problem-solving, and adapting to evolving digital tools. Strengthening these skills enables students to critically assess artistic techniques, structure their creative processes systematically, and develop confidence in their evaluative judgments.

In this study, self-efficacy refers to an individual’s belief in their ability to successfully accomplish tasks, overcome challenges, and achieve desired goals. For students in Chinese painting and calligraphy vocational education, self-efficacy not only influences their creativity and innovation in artistic practice but also affects their ability to adapt to new technologies and methodologies. Students with higher self-efficacy are more likely to actively explore new digital tools, respond flexibly to learning challenges, and maintain confidence and perseverance in artistic creation and professional development.
